It took three tries and I'm still not that happy, but I'm done now.

He's not your standard croc, just so you know beforehand.

Super nice work, gator stud! She's very fetching indeed and quite inviting with that very nice pose you've got her into. ;) Fantastic work as always with the scale detail and the expression works really well on her perky snout. The bristol board really makes for some fine, detail drawing! You win the "Golden Bukaw" award for today!
Hey thanks there bud.
I really liked the pose that she's in too, something seductive but tasteful. Even though she's being kind of a playful tease.
Doing all that scale work is really testing the limits of my hand, have to do them is small batches before my hand starts to cramp up. Hopefully I get use to it soon.
You know now that I've started using that bristol board with all my work, I don't think that i can ever go back to using anything else. It's so easy and friendly to work with, it really does make a big difference in the quality of work that can come out.

I'm pleased you've found your love in Bristol board. We all find what we work with best, it just takes time. Don't forget that Canson paper, it's perfect for proto sketches, character sketches and more!
There is just SO much fun stuff out there to play with. I'm still in love with acetate and I've got my Cel-Vinyl paints on order at last! Weehawbukaw! Good stuff.

Oh yea, there is much love with the Bristol board. that is some of the best paper I've ever used.
I've been using the Canson 70lb paper that you recommended a while ago for doing sketches and drafts also. It's really is good paper. SO much better than the printer/copier paper that I was using for years.
Kick ass about you getting the Cel-Vinyl paints, now I'm really stoked to see what you're going to come up with.

Thanks, I was very pleased with how this one came out, epically the scale patterns, those are so hard to get down right.
The best trick that I've found to drawing stuff like this is just to get as much RL reference material as possible, both from gators/crocs as well as male and female models and then just go to town and see what you pan out. I would love to see what kind of works you come up with.
As for coloring, I don't really have anyone that colors my work, I've tried digital coloring on a few pieces and
Mrminos has done me the honor of coloring a couple of my pieces from time to time, usually though it's in the form of a collaboration between the two of us. But if you ever want to try to do come color work on any of my stuff, feel free to ask.

Thank you very much. Yea your right, it's hard to get that kind of detail and positioning for a curve in a gators tail since there so thick and massive, I can't even remember how many test pieces I had to go though before I got it to look even half way right. Thankfully reference material helps out a lot.
:/ either make her human curvy, or gator curvy, not anorexic gator or androgynous human-shaped.
sorry for the critique- honestly capturing ladygatorness is hard to do. also her back leg looks a tad out of place.
saying this because a) I've been watching/working with gators forever and 2) I just started drawing myself as a somewhat stylized ladygator. boy gators want thick-in-the-middle mates with shorter femmy snouts. (just saying)
