I've been knitting a long white/green striped scarf for fun. :3 Silly me starting Fall projects in the Spring.
By the way, check out my journal about Everyday in May! http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/711253/

Ooh, I really like this one! It is indeed one of the most charming so far.
I think it’s the eyes, the windows on the soul. They’re very expressive and very appealing. Moreover, the scarf hides the mouth and jaw, which is where much of the rest of a facial expression resides. By hiding it, the viewer is forced to focus on the eyes more.
The hair also may contribute, long in front, bound into tufts at the back. Overall, it’s very attractive, very appealing.
And if you don’t start an autumn project in the spring, it won’t be ready when autumn arrives!

Reference is good. Life drawing is good. Keeping a morgue file is good.
I’d say keep sketching, keep experimenting, keep analyzing what you’ve done already, keep getting feedback. :3 I’m sure you’ll catch hold of the essential ingredients!
