For the final "Throwback Thursday" of December (and of 2016), I have an apropos 'photo-op', taken earlier this week in central Florida...
On the Monday after Christmas, my brother Glenn and I drove upstate to Sanford, for a reunion with our niece Corynne Pereira. She came down to the 'Sunshine State' with her boyfriend Hector DuBois (who she plans to marry in the early Summer of 2017). They were spending the holidays at the condo of Hector's sister (and her three kids). Needless to say, I was happy to see Corynne (for the first time in years), and we got to catch up with each others' lives.
Later on, all of us took two separate vehicles for a trek to Lake Buena Vista (west of Sanford), where we'd spent the rest of the day at Disney Springs (the outdoor mall within 'a stone's throw away' from the Disney World theme parks), where we'd have dinner at the Rainforest Cafe in the complex.
During our stroll around Disney Springs, Hector's sister brought out her smartphone, and used its digital camera feature to take a picture of Corynne (center), Glenn (right), and myself, with a fountain behind us, and the newly-opened Coca-Cola clothing pavilion and restaurant in the background (upper left). And if you think the setting for this 'photo-op' looks familiar, it should be. Six months earlier, I had posed in front of the same fountain with illustrator Mary Hanson-Roberts for a similar digital pic - https://www.furaffinity.net/view/20089541/ .
For this 'photo-op', I was wearing fitting holiday attire: my green "Megaplex" T-shirt (with the "Christmas in July" theme) and my red Santa cap. Glenn, the sports enthusiast that he is, was wearing his UFC tee. And with Corynne wearing her red blouse, we'd made a colorful trio!

Well, at least they'd kept the Disney name. In Sunrise, FL, the arena where the (NHL) Florida Panthers play had undergone several name changes since its opening sixteen years ago. It was originally called National Car Rental Center, followed by Office Depot Center, Bank Atlantic Center, and (currently) BB&T Center. Mark my words; by the end of this decade, it will be renamed some other forgettable name (like Schlomo's Mortuary Center or Dave's In-By-Nine-Out-By-Five Dry-Cleaning Center). Just name it after the team who plays there, instead of a sponsor, why don't you?!
