As part of his leadership training with the elders, Zaltag has to learn how to use his surrounding to his advantage.

So here we see Zaltag learning how to use the thorns to get away from danger. His first try wasn’t all that good, The elders are timing him on his speed on this and he’s getting stuck on a few thorn branches and coming to dead ends. Hopefully he’ll get the hang of it time.

Aw man this took me a long time to do.

The drawing took the longest because of the detail I wanted it. Then I inked it put it in the scanner to clean it up on the computer and then colored this thing in Artrage.

I took a different approach to how I shaded this; instead of using the color burn tool that I always use on my digital works, I used the linear burn which gives this a better shading effect from the scene.
