Sorry for the puffy back, but sitting for three hours will do that for you!
First tattoo ever, and god DAMN
Yes, it hurt XD
I'm so impressed with both
l2edpanda for the design and MariVanda from Sacred Heart tats
I'm also so impressed with myself! I heard a lot of people say I shouldn't go for anything large for my first piece. Is that good advice? Yes. Yes it is. But I did it and I love it and I'm proud of myself. Spent the time zoned into something ridiculously similar to subspace, and my thankfully my bf poshfox was there to feed me gummy bears. c:
I'll need a second sitting to do dotwork, but for now... hot damn, ma'am, I did it!

That looks phenomenal. My sister's been out to get a lot of tattoos before and I've been able to see some very intricate work by her tattoo artist. To get such detailed art done like that, you must have proper endurance. \o/ Well done to you! Good luck on the next sitting!
Ooooh, I love that piece! It looks wonderful so far, and once you finish it up I'm sure it'll look phenomenal! I just got my sixth piece myself and was still for three hours for it myself, so I tooootally get it. The color and shading is just a smidge more painful, but not TOO bad compared to the linework. Can't wait to see the colored version! Your artist does some /really/ amazing linework from the looks of it!
The cat skull is both A. I love cats and B. I collect bones and C. I see beauty in nature and bones are the remnants of a life you may never know, and D. Nothing lasts forever.
The plants are all native to my homestate, Tennesseee. The sycamore leaves are for my dad, who grafted several clones off a sycamore he loved as a boy. Now there are clone babies of that tree in my grandparents yard, and in his yard. A lot of my pets are buried beneath it too. The wildflowers are for my mom, who grows them every spring in the backyard, and the queen anne's lace is my favorite flower since a young age. They're also symbolic of protection ;u; Then the dandelions are representative of making wishes~
Sorry, that was a long descrip, but I put a lot of thought into what I wanted ;u;

first of: happy new year, might it be wonderfull for you!
and now: i don't mind at all, to the contrary, i love tattoo-explanations and while i can somehow get the idea of a tattoo just for it's beauty, a deep and personal meaning makes it so much more perfect to me! also because often one can relate to it and get a personal connection to the person wearing it (for example i have a skull "collection" as well and totally get your thought behind it!). i always warn people who ask me for the meaning of my tattoos, that it will need some time and if they really want to invest it. xD i most often need at least a minute per tattoo, so yours was quite short in comparison! i think the thought behind it is the most important part of a tattoo! :) and i really like your meaning!

Tattoos aren't really my thing. But since you had to go
big and bold, I really do think you made a very good
choice. It may only be half done, but I can tell at a
glance, that it matches the level of detail in the original
drawing, to a very high degree. So if nothing else, you're
definitely getting your money's worth.
