JC, busy as he is, still has to make time to present his work at professional conferences. These can be long, drawn-out, dull affairs, with only a brief coffee break between breakout sessions to blur the tedium.
So it can't really be faulted, per se, if his mind wanders, and if his eye is caught but a particularly handsome member of the hotel wait staff. And if he gets so distracted that he spills his coffee...well, that's really the conference hotel's fault, right?

This was, to my shame, based upon real events. That's all I can say about that. :) And this marks the first appearance of my waiter from Halifax, Joel. He may end up in more work, you never know. :)
