Melkor, Later known as Morgoth the Mightiest of the Valar who desired the world Arda as his kingdom and thus became the first dark lord, His most Faithfull Liutenent Was the Maia Sauron who took Up Morgoths Mantle and title after Morgoth was chained and cast into the void beyond the gates of night
(Sigh) this is an okay piece and all, but I cannot do this anymore. I can't give props to a guy who shirks is responsibilities the way you do. You say you are busy and have canceled all commissions but you still find the time to create all this other stuff in your spare time when you still have only a few more commissions in your bucket list to do, even a YCH pic you did on the side. When we last parted ways and i told you what made us drift apart, admittedly what i put down was only half the issue. The whole reason for me was how in spite of all you had on the plate to do you never really bothered to make the time to do it, now i was willing to be more flexible about that judgement given the complexity of what later works you posted. But seriously man you've had little over two years; more, in fact. Given you've had that commission list long before i ever stumbled upon you (which i kinda regret now) and you still haven't bothered to make any real headway. In all honesty that just seems a little irresponsible to me, especially since you are being paid to do all of this work for these guys you've kept waiting.I kinda think you shouldn't do commissions anymore if you cannot handle the responsibility that comes with it, and i say this all with a heavy heart because you used to bring me a lot of joy in my life with whatever it was you created at the time; and once I loved you like a brother because you were one of the kindest most talented people I've ever met.
I mean that from the bottom of my heart, but now you've turned into a slacker who shuts people out and does whatever he feels like; now i'm well aware that it is your art and your choice to do with it whatever you feel like I'm not judging that. But I've been cussed, cheated and otherwise offended by six artists in the past who've developed the same or irritatingly similar proclivities as you have when it comes to art for money, and unfortunately your my unlucky number fifth. s'why I take it all so seriously. And personally. Its a good thing you have thousands upon thousands of fans who like your work despite your shortcomings and all because I'm no longer a one of yours, I'm done holding my breath for someone who clearly has no intention of getting his/her or their act together and getting stuff done. I've made that mistake once too often as of late, On the bright side you no longer hafta worry about my asking for a commission from you again like ever. Largely because I'd hate ending up waiting for years on end for a piece I paid for, and the honestly sad thing is I know from experience how fast a worker you are on your next masterpiece which only makes this all the more painful. Though I doubt you really care at this point which is why at the same time, neither do I anymore.
I doubt you even remember when the first time I got in contact with you how i mentioned that another artist jerked me out of a commission and you said that was kinda Dickish. Well I mean no disrespect when I say this but take it however you want, that's kind of what your doing as of late. But yeah, parting on friendly terms aside I can no longer respect the way you do things any longer. I'm not angry just disappointed in you is all, sorry again for having been an impediment in your life but sorrier still for the way we started and ended. So block me, kick me out of your social knitting circle after reading this It doesn't matter, you'll never hear from me again. Obviously I'll poke around just to see the latest craze, but you did more than just break our friendship man; you broke my heart Therefore I Don't want anything more to do with you. And before you even think of saying it PLEASE DON'T, I know there are other artists but so far I've had the bad run of running into artists like you in my life more often than I'd like and its making me wonder why I ever wanted to be one in the first place. Well that's all I wanted to say, any way Happy New Year for what its worth though since Auf Wiedersehen is german for "till we met again" I'm just gonna end this with blunt Tschüss. I'll leave you to figure on what that means.

Already hearing the Nostalgia Critic asking why he isn't a wiry, finger twiddling wimpy schemer instead a pitch-black, towering mountain of darkness.
I'm serious; the NC's critique of Sauron was that he was a towering monster clad in thorny armor, which he deliberately forged to the likeness of his former master, and was able to fling mortals (and immortals in the case of the elves) with a single swipe of a mace and thinks that a dark lord should be some conniving schemer (not saying that doesn't work, like with the likes of Loki in both the Norse myth and Marvel, but the reason he's so dangerous and commands so much respect is that he has power to backup his words) and comparing him to Hulk in mindset. Heck, it's even explained that when a Valar or Maiar falls to darkness, they become twisted abominations.
You really think, in the case of Sauron, that hordes of orcs, cave trolls, the Nazgul, Saruman (albeit he was arrogant enough to assume he could overtake Sauron), let alone the potential ally of Smaug, would follow someone who doesn't have the power to display that he is powerful enough to show that he is worth their loyalty? Hell, Morgoth had power over beings like the Balrogs, and was able to convince Ungoliant, the mother of Shelob, and literally a manifestation of darkness in the form of a spider, who can drain light itself trying to sate her hunger and spins webs of pure darkness, to aid him in draining the Trees of the Valinor.
The forces of light aren't always big and burly and the forces of darkness wimpy and conniving.
What more is there to say; perfect interpretation and depiction of the first Dark Lord.

Doug Walker is probebly not familiar with the lotr mythos. I mean Sauron is a demi god or a lesser god And Morgoth was a full fledged god (valar, arch angel, how ever one chooses to see Tolkiens legendarium) I was thinking of makeing sauron to. but in my mind he is more like a towering nazgul but with more splendour and flame since he was a maia of Aule
Master of wars, creator of Sauron, master general of Balrogs, orcs & other creatures of darkness. Temporary wielder of the Sillmarillion, bidding presence behind Glaurung & creator of evil. :3
The second I saw this piece I knew it was Melkor/Morgoth. Well done! I bet Tolkein would love this rendition of the father of all dark lords of Middle Earth :D .
