For me - while I still absolutely love it - it was more the third act for me, once Pinbacker became more of a major player in the plot, it turned into more of a "monster on the ship" thing and broke the poetry and symbolism of the first and second acts.
Pinbacker was definitely a strong part of that "poetry" but I think the way they presented the third act wasn't quite in alignment with the first two acts.
