Our intrepid dragonslaying hero creeps up on the helpless Tarkustralszer, whose peaceful slumber is shattered by an almighty blow from the raptor's one-hit-dragonslay sword. Not quite dead, but probably nearly, the tyrannical monster dares to retaliate with what is sure to be its dying breath...

That is exactly what I thought after I saw how it continued. But I think there is another way than annoying the dragon. I think asking nicely for some nice treatment would do the job aswell. ;)

This is what you want to have to at least hace a chance when fighting dragons fight descent armor a good strategy a strong weapon and most importantly a shield and he failed all of those standards
