That is beautiful artwork. The fur really does look awesome (so I can understand why you'd say you never want to see fur again, lol, since I'm betting you spent a heck of a lot of time trying to make it look just right).

I understand you not wanting to see it again. ^^; Painting fur just drains you of energy (and kills your hands XD). But I love the fur on the male. The colors blend so wonderfully! Gorgeous shading and lighting as well! :D

How did you do that layering effect on the tail??

Thanks! :) You put down the base color of a tail (i.e., blue fox has midtone grey value for her tail), follow it up with the darker values for the tail (where the little shadows would be in the layers of fur; same case of blue fox, a darker grey value following the contours of how fur would be bunched), and then go in with fine detail for highlights (where your strokes start to count; blue fox gets a bluish pale grey value here).

It probably sounds a little complicated, but after the 50th area you've done this... :P
