Well yeah i know what are you thinking but no. I´m not drawing Bambi, so please, if i read some comment talking about him i gonna cry. But my intenttion was to create a picture very symylar to an animation movie. is quite hard to no get close to Disney cause everybody suppose to think that "they do the most realistic animated animals". I tried to not get so close to that style so i take carefully photos of real deers as reference.
This is the same character of my doodles here, in his deer form. The story is really cliche and is based in a lot of calssic stories and myths around "the fair folk" or fairies as people usually know them.
This character is a forest spirit who falls in love with a human girl, and the Fair Folk as kinda different ways to show their love than humans so he takes humanish shape to kidnap her, in some romantic way. Of course her Fiance is not so happy with that, he will try to save her from this "monster" but maybe he couldn´t resists the magic creature´s charms neither... The story hasn´t a happy ending, because the character is not really evil, he is just in love, in ways that humans cannot understand.
Is quite sad and tragic. and i wanted to
foxamoore to make a musical theme for it. The result is wonderful, i like it because is sad and mistic as i wanted. Is called "Forbidden love" Also the poem attached to it is very beautyful:

Oh the little birds are characters too, they take different shape too when the main character transforms himself.

I actually thought of perhaps a saxon image of Odin/Wotan first. You have two birds, and you have a deer. And the image in my mind is kind of reaching because it is really two ravens to be specific andthe correct animal would be an elk, but my mind has a funny way of traveling.

Bambi?, tu estilo es muy serio para compararse con el de Disney. =^.^=
El estilo Disney usa medidas bastante reales en lo que a los ciervos y otros animales se refiere en Bambi, pero esas caritas dulces les dan en la torre, dandoles aspecto muy "toon". <:(
Se escucha interesante, me gustaria ver/leer tu historia y saber como termina, excelente trabajo. =^.^=

I don't think it's reminiscent of Disney at all. Perhaps the bird faces, but everything else looks pretty unique.
I love all of the jagged lines and angles on the figures. Looks really amazing on the deer/spirit body.

Quizás si, quizás no, cada quien XD. Quizás me recuerda por la tecnica en la cabeza que manejaste, nada mas, el cuerpo un poco "Floofy" es ya tuyo, aunque si lo vemos friamente, Bambi es un diseño univesal, cualquier cosa que dibujes te saldrá en base a Bambi, claro que, utilizando algunas tecnicas de animé la cosa cambia... pero como a mi casi no me gusta el animé porque está rechoteado XD.

Esta bien pero yo no use tecnicas de anime, yo mire fotos de ciervos reales, y realmente quise usar una tecnica que lo hiciese ver como una pelicula de animacion pero sin usar a bambi como base. Esta bien lo que pienses vos pero yo no lo pienso asi, y se que no lo hice con esa intencion.
Bueno no, lo de animé no digo que lo hayas usado en esta imagen... auch! quizás no me expliqué. Viendo tus antiguos trabajos manejas cierto toquecillo animé (debes reconocerlo XD), y en este caso bueno, está bien, de fotos reales es muy bueno.
Pero bueno yo veo al Bambi por todas partes, creo que ya es un vicio mio XD. Pero si, aunque uno no lo reconozca tenemos influencias de Bambi, no directamente porque nos enfocamos o nos inspiran otros artistas, pero ese quizás retomó ideas de otro que se inspiró en el cervatillo.

Si odio a Disney... aunque Bambi es un choque que tengo porque, aprecio el trabajo en sus dibujos sobretodo en este personaje, pero me rechoca que las obras originales no las respetó, o hizo su propia versión y/o no haya sitado al principio o al final de la peli de dónde se basó.
Bambi en realidad es un libro, no es una creación 100% disney (de hecho son muuuuuuy pocas las obras originales)pero muchos no lo saben (pienso que el 90% no debe saber, no se, es un cálculo rápido), si digo Bambi es de Disney verdad? nadie dice que es un libro escrito en 1923 por un cuientista llamado Felix Salten.

Suelen tener una nariz un poco más prominente, razgos algo menos delicados, ojos ligeramente más razgados y no creo que haya visto uno con cejas x3
Creo que lo que el tema, más que nada, es que al ser un approach a la estética de la animación, uno le da ese impromptu de personalidad que la verdad, tenés que hacer un esfuerzo muuuuy grande para encontrarselo a un ciervo de verdad. Y eso se traduce en todas esas pequeñas gestualidades que diferencian una ilustración enciclopédica a lo que dibujaste, que por cierto está muy lindo y proporcionado y estilizado muy en tu estilo particular.

awwww this is soooo pretty. All white deer! Don't worry about the Disney thing. Deer are hard, and of all the cartoons i've seen of them... Disney has done the best realistic cartoon of them all. So if thats the look you were going for (real as can be, not Disney) Then its going to happen. I can see your style in this piece though. Sooooo pretty man. White ones... You never see one really. and with black eyes and noses. Soooooo cute. I think you did an amazing job! The birds too! I like the moving wings on the one.
I alwys had trouble with cliches until a friend told me that it is impossible to create something new so I should just make a cliche as big as I can and then turn it around 180 degrees. It worked until today.
Anyway I like the describtion of your story idea a lot (of course the picture too ;)). I'm writing at the moment an Urban Fantasy novel and I would love to give your character a little role in one scene. I know that's very arrogant of me to think and ask but...would you mind?

This looks way more stunning than Disney's version of deers. I can totally recognize your style in this, so no need to worry that it looks like something Disney could make C:

the story in all is captivating. I guess that kind of stories apply to people, that's why they become chiche and are used over and over again with interesting varieties.
The song goes pretty with it as well, I can imagine is being a trailer or an intro to some animated piece with the deer gracefully walking in his woods thinking about the events past.

Definately better than Disney, I'd say. Their deer, actually, don't really look like deer! Yours looks more like one, in a cartoonish style, much like I tried to do with Banff. Though Banff an't as fluffy, and dosn't have a dogish nose like most draw them with. (Because deer really don't! His just fades to black.)
Me gusta el estilo y creo que fue bien logrado ese efecto de hacerlo "parecer de una pelicula de animacion", No me recuerda a disney si me lo preguntas, en icerta forma pienso asi por los colores que usas, los tuyos me parecen algo mas apagados y reales... Los personajes de Disney, como bamby por ejemplo es como que brillan en la oscuridad ;P.
Muy bien hecho de verdad que es todo un gran trabajo de Arte.

This is got to be one of the best looking stag drawing I've seen for a while and it does look very good in animation style. Just wondering, are these two birds some kinda spirit or super natural beings kinda similar to Issun (from Okami) or just regular birds?
Anyway, I'd totally looking forward to see more of the white stag (sounds Harry Potter???)

i personally adore this. We have a stag on our land that is albino. My cousin named him clutz. Since well he is gorgeous but not th most graceful deer there is. first time we ever saw him in ran into our glass door. But i truly love this, when i saw it, disney nor bambi popped into my head. Anyway love it, woot!
