Ceramics: K'nopiQ Jars - Owl
#2 in the K'nopiQ series. Owls were known in Egypt, so well that the ninth letter of the hieroglyphic alphabet is an owl to symbolize 'm' .... That being said, they were often thought of as a bad omen, their haunting call being a sign that someone died.
This is the largest jar I've thrown so far, and the front of the jar just has the hieroglyph M in high detail to match the cap. The back of the jar is blank. The cap is carved and painted in underglaze.
This jar will be up for sale at Further Confusion's art show.
