Ceramics: K'nopiQ Jars - Sekhmet
(Take 2 - typo'd her name!)
#4 in the K'nopiQ series. This is the lion-headed goddess Sekhmet, she of fire, war, and dance. Her priests were the first physicians, as she could bring disease and pestilence to the land. She was the aggressive aspect to the passive Hathor.
The front of the jar has an image of Sekhmet seated; the back has her name in hieroglyphs. The cap is simply painted with underglazes.
This jar will be for sale at the Further Confusion Art Show.
