Note that this isn't the final cover but the mere front picture featuring both Myre and Varug. I didn't feel like posting it with all the font and stuff. :)
Happy new year, everyone! I hope you all had a lovely and joyous start into the new year and found many things for yourself to look forward to. I wish you all a great and smooth start and that you stay strong and motivated to accomplish what you worked for! My start has been really busy, as usual, but it's great nonetheless. :)
I've been pondering about the cover art for quite a while now. Even during the work on the inside pages, I tried to come up with an idea that would suit the pilot of Myre's story. In the end, the solution has always been there right in front of me. Back in 2012, I created a piece of Myre and Varug standing on a mountain peak, overlooking some plains of Yria, in a sort of fancy dream that this may one day be the cover of the graphic novel.
You can find the first idea here:

Back then, whilst I was really wishing for seeing Myre as a complete project, I had no idea that four years later, I would be going back there to look upon this painting as the actual option for the first cover of the Myre series. A lot of things have changed since then. Beginning with the character design, especially that of Varug's, who turned from a mere creature into a real sentient character that is supposed to express feelings as well, to the overall complexion of Myre. I decided to take this idea and repaint it, plus adding more of the adventurous essence and reducing the convoluted background to focus more on both the characters. The complete picture will also contain more elements that will stretch themselves throughout the series and which you will learn about more as you read through it.
I'm really happy today that I came so far to actually be sitting on the cover of the first completed book of Myre. Yesterday, I met the printers to whom I passed the imposition press for the production. This cover will be sent after in the next two days whilst Myre is already in production. :)
