This pic I did for the 10th anniversary artwork of my fursona DJ Darkfox, who I created in December 25th 2006.
I worked longer on this than expected, already wanted to have the coloration done on dec 25th 2016, but it took me a bit more than a week longer, but that doesnt matter after such a long time already x3
This pic is also dedicated to my dear friend Elly
, without her, we would not have influenced our skills each other so good to have it being it like it is now. She also has always been a very helpful friend for almost eight years now, which I highly appreciate so much, which is why Andre is a guest this time. <3
I have done this piccy on A2 (42x60cm) sized paper this time, which is roughly 17x23 inches of paper size, all done in copics and white acryl for the highlights <3
Have a shot of a shredded, massive muscle fox getting out of his swimming pool... whose shorts accidently slipped a bit in that moment x3
Andre seems to enjoy it and doesnt want to waste time to get into the pool too ;3
Here is DJ of the year 2006: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/350108/
Ten years of working out with passion has made him grow quite a bit ;3
Also... big big thanks to all friends and artists who supported and inspired me during that time, I wouldnt be here if you wouldnt have been there for me, this is all highly appreciated <3<3

This is by far your best drawing ever! ^^
Yes, it’s a true masterpiece… and I will write some words about it and explain WHY this is a true masterpiece.
First of all, it’s one of your largest artworks of all time. Yes, I know that you’ve done on a bigger board once… but not very often. This paper sheet is really huge and that’s the reason why you were able to put ALL the fine details and effects here. Of course, you can draw fine details much better on a large paper sheet.
Oh, did I say paper sheet? YES, it is! It is real paper… and these are REAL colours!! So, once again (and that’s not really a secret) this is a TRADITIONAL PIECE OF ART… and this automatically qualifies as “great” in my opinion. ^^
Ok, there are many great digital pieces around here… but hand-drawn artworks are not common these days and I can see how much time and love you’ve put into this.
I was the lucky one to observe witness and follow your artwork during the creation process. From the very first digital sketch stroke to the final sparkle effects… I was there. And it was great to follow you step by step… the first sketches… the first clean lines… basic colours… background… characters… effects. It has been a pleasure to follow and I’m happy that this masterpiece finally got to life! ^^
Let me start with the main character “DJ DARKFOX”, of course.
We can see that he’s just finished some laps in the pool… his muscles are still strong from swimming and some training in the water. I don’t have to point out the great anatomy and fine details again… we know that you are great at drawing this kind of muscles and anatomy. ^^
But still… all the attention to detail: The veins, the muscle strings, the fur… and everything looks wet and strong. The “wet fur” effects are outstanding! It is really well done and the fur looks highly believable. I like how exhausted DJ looks here… he has just gotten out of the pool… slamming his hands and claws on the ground… breathing hard and strong. His heart is pounding… and his hair and fur is dripping. His expression is a mix between being exhausted, being happy and proud of his body. Also, he DID recognize his friend Andre here… and he DID surely recognize that Andre is JUST ABOUT to get into the pool, as well… to join his foxy friend in the cool water. ^^
I can almost feel how heavy and strong DJ must be… just by looking at his hands… and how these hands are supporting his body… and how he’s resting on his powerful arms.
Andre is the character in the background and he’s surely looking at his friend in admiration. He does NOT have to hide, either… his body is equally well build and strong. But I like this little detail here: He’s licking his lips as he looks at DJ in admiration… and I’m sure he will take off his shirt in a second and jump right into the cool water… to have some fun with his friend. XD
Or maybe, he’ll just swim a few laps himself. Either way, it’s a lovely scene!!!
And Andre looks great, too. His body, anatomy, clothing and expression… everything is as good as DJ (just smaller).
Back to DJ again… his facial expression surely looks a bit exhausted but also very friendly and proud. He’s a proud beefy fox and HE KNOWS IT! :D
Furthermore, you have REALLY outdone yourself when it comes to special effects here.
I don’t know where to start… the light blue tone, which reflects the water on DJ’s white body… the swirling, wavy lines… which are also reflection effects from the moving water… the water… OMG, the water effects! I LOVE how you’ve done the water splats and drops on the stones. The drops look SO darn realistic! Great work with COPICS, coloured pencils and white pens. ^_____^
Seriously, the water drops are stealing the show… almost.
It is the best effect I’ve seen from you!!
Wow… that’s really awesome. And – not to forget – all the little sparkling “stars”… XD
I have to admit that these “sparkle stars” are a bit cheesy… but in a good way. I imagine a discofox or techno soundtrack playing in the background… while looking at this. XD
DJ is turning his head… water drops are falling through the air and then we can hear a “pling”… and we can see these stars………. XD *laughs*
It might be a bit cheesy BUT it is highly effective! I’m a sucker for such things and some people might give you a face palm here… I don’t.
^^
As a matter of fact, all the water drops, glitter stars, sparkles and wet fur effects… everything is done with so much love and attention to detail (AND DONE ON FU**ING PAPER!!!)… it is lovely.
Of course, the realistic effects can also be found when we check out DJ’s nose… lips… claws… they look very shiny and fleshy (not the claws, of course)!!
Last but not least… the background.
The background is also filled with lots of details… the moving bushes (we can also see some leaves flying around), the moving fluffy (happy) clouds in the air, the playful ball in the background (one of your trademarks), the sweet pool and the nice house… it’s all drawn very well and I like the perspective of the house very much.
But there is ONE aspect I love most of all: The warm summer feeling!
Yes, the bright colours and the shading and lighting indicate that we have summer (OK, you would not really use the pool in the winter…)!
Never mind, I love the warm colours. The overall feeling is warm and sunny and just great!
And that is why the background highly supports the overall expression of the situation here. It’s not “just there”… it is an important part.
Well, I guess I am done… there’s not much to add….. ^^”
I’m happy you shared this artwork with us.
And it really IS your masterpiece so far!
Take care and be well -

You know bro, your comments are always like reading the biggest and most detailed comments ever, as if it was a professionally written critique, thank you really much for your words, I am glad you noticed all those fine details in this pic and have joy exploring them. <3<3
And this artworks and skills would have not been possible without friends like you <3

Absolutely beautiful work, Tobi. <3 I'm always amazed by your ability to use soft shading and additional light sources. I kind of miss working with marker, but I never had the patience that you have. It's incredible to see how you've grown as an artist, and how DJ has developed during that time! I'm so glad to have known you and hopefully we can stay in contact for a very long time. <3
No worries we will stay in contact as long as you keep answering my e-mails since you dont use telegram or any other messenger anymore x3
And I am glad I was able to follow on your own progress as well, I am glad having you as an inspirational friend as well <3
About Elly, of course, I stay in contact with her too <3

Comes right out of the pool and he's still dryer than a piece of sandpaper in the Sahara. DRINK. SOME. WATER. DJ.
All jokes aside, looks awesome, dude. Don't need to say much else given a guy apparently submitted his fucking College thesis on this picture in the comments section.

I also think this may be another inspirational picture of yours for my own bodybuilding IRL! Particularly for the shoulders, triceps, and pecs... The detail you put into these is so great, that even though I know it's impossible for a human to achieve, I find these motivational for my own workouts.
soooooo handsome and sexy ... shame those shorts didnt completly come off, then that would be a very merry ( late) xmas gift. heres hoping to many more years of art and improvement DJ and PS if i ever had the money and you were open id commission you to draw my dragon, maybe with you but heh i dont see my self with that kind of disposable income
Dont give a flip on what they say. Its in the nature of art that artists create work from ideas and things they have seen somewhere else before. Combining these perceived things, memories and ideas with your skills and creating something so intense like this artwork here is the way art works :)
Thanks... Afterall I do this all here just for myself, I dont earn money with this and do this out of pure fun, I know its rare to find nowadays seeing artists doing traditional art with expensive media just out of fun, plus I dont trace but use reference art and/or photos at times, which is no crime, I just suck at thinking of good poses most of the times xp
And as long as the viewers like what I create, its all fine, it even motivates some to get better at art or tomactually work out which I would never have expected.

You know what, thats exactly what your artworks inspired and encouraged me to do! I'm collecting your works since I first saw them back int 2008 I think... well that was kinda when I not really had anything on my own and lived by my Parents. Today I have a Job and live with a partner, we made ourselves a little fitness room with a bench and a good amount of weights and try to work out regularly. I personally didnt came so far by working out but I think I will be much stronger at the end of this year ^^
You know thats also the reason why I asked you for a print of your artworks... I think one of them would be a great motivation for me and my partner in our fitnessroom ^^

This might be one of the hottest and most beautiful drawings of a muscle fur.
Bravo!
