a plane dragon i made back in november, i wanted to draw it, give myself some time and then go back on drawing it to see what would come out of a drawing i spent long time out...
and what came out was procastination because i never touched it again. OOPS
regardless, heres a plane wyvern! I love the idea of plane dragons as in, modern dragons that fake plane proportions and appearence to cover themselves from hunters or to gain predatory advantage. i can imagine those wyvern do not breath fire but would use of loud plane-like noises to confuse hunter and prey. anything that thinks and flies knows that planes are not something to mess up with, so those wyverns are rarely in trouble :)
they have long, albatross-like wings and can spend a big chunk of their time flying. when on land they prefer isolated areas, but some smaller populations might be found close to cities. despise their looks, they avoid airports. some would say they see planes as bigger and more dominant individuals, but they are actually well aware of how a birdstrike can be messy, imagine a wyrmstrike :p
those dudes sport some insanely accurate plane patterns, with super reflective black fur to mimic the windows even. some folks, like this one, even got to mimic logos! what they see gets passed down on the next generation, so the most common a plane type is in a certain location, the most likely those wyverns will sport a design like theirs. if they are constantly somewhere where multiple plane types occur, they will eventually have really weird mixes of most frequent colour and frequent "dot" (logo) placement. like if tam and lufthasa are constants somewhere, they could look like blue tams or red lufthasas.
i choose this dragon's palette inspiration thanks to the amazing time i had with them! plus that their planes are cute hehe
