What you say:
"I can't believe people are being so weird. Did you hear somebody left dirty diapers on cars at the convention? Sad that people are that bad. Some common sense would be awesome. And after all, it's technically free."
The result from them:
"I want you to draw a free sexy dirty diaper pic for me with really obvious poo and pee stains."
"What?! I don't draw scat or diaper pics! Why in the world would you think I'd do this? I also don't do commissions for free."
"But you SAAAAAID you would!"
Because what they heard:
"I <distracted> believe <ooo butterfly> dirty diapers <picking belly button lint> are <they are?> awesome and <Gleee!> free."

Problem is, some people don't even think two seconds about context.
The term "request" is very often used in this community to mean "images I draw freely from requests given by my viewers that sound appealing to me" or something along those lines.
So some folks will just see the word "request" in whatever context and immediately assume that's what it means, and move on without a second thought.
Granted, I'm sure there's other ways to misinterpret such things, like a barely-started English as a second language student, or something. I 'unno.

Poor
caribou put a journal up asking if people wanted to buy sketches for her weekend stream. She said something like 'send me your requests!'
She got pounced on by the free-seekers and then one of them really harassed her a lot when she said, no, it's not free ... :P Apparently people look at the word 'request' and nothing else, and apparently that means free.
I'm pretty sure some furry hobo's going to ask me for free stuff just for posting this comment with the word 'request' in it so many times.
