The last part of my IPSTP Day celebration! Now the story is all posted, from beginning to end.
This is a story about vampires. And about humans. It's about a world where vampires have destroyed human civilization. And it's about what happens when one human finds he has a choice, and a chance to make a difference.
Still LONG, but hopefully worth the time. :)

Whew! That was an epic read. A very good story, I enjoyed it a lot.
The nit-picker in me wants to say that a katana is probably not the best blade for a vampire to use, as the extreme edge hardening tended to make it rather more fragile than other types of blades. It certainly wouldn't hold up to the kind of abuse a super-strong vampire could put it through - the first time Aidan or David tried an opposed parry, one or the other of the blades would have snapped. Actually, that's probably true of most historical blades, no matter what their origin, with the likely exception of some of the more over-built two-handers.
But that's just the nit-picker, and the rest of me is easily able to suppress him and get on with enjoying the story.
