If there were ever a physical embodiment of 'make you can out of the lamest situations', Madria would be it. A tight financial situation, and her desire to be as far away from her overbearing family as possible, both meant that Madria had to postpone her desire to head off to college and get some sort of technology degree. She'd heard horror-stories from her almost entirely older friends about the kind of overbearing weight student debt left people with, and, in her pragmatic opinion, why should she bother when she could just get a job in the meantime and pay for school herself? And so, the rooess took a job at an out-of-the-way, lesser-known diner in the middle of an already packed city. It'd just be for a little while...
Two years since, and Madria has since become one of the better-known servers at the Tall Stacks Diner. She'd always found it funny how quickly she had adapted to the bustle, the customers, and the experience of working at this strange little eatery, even if she was notably the shortest person on the wait-staff, and even if both their customers and the dishes they ordered occasionally weighed shockingly close to what the rooess measured up to. For her, it was just another one of those life-challenges she'd grown used to overcoming, but here, suggesting which of the Diner's absurdly-portioned plates she'd heard were especially good ("So, are you interested in the Eight-Four Omelette? ...Yeah, that's what it sounds like, eight eggs, and four different cheeses. ...I -know-! Doesn't it sound fantastic? Or you could just get the 12 High Tall Stack of pancakes, made to order...") and even striking up conversations with the regulars and her co-workers has always filled her with a sense of satisfaction. Sure, she may be a shrimp, but here, she feels -big-. ...Or at the very least, she's in her element. That, more than anything, might be why she's thought again as to whether or not she wants to move on with her life.
Back at her small little apartment, Madria's living space is a prime example in her learning to live with whatever makes her comfortable. Prone to just loving the feel of softness against her fur, the rooess' bed mostly consists of a softened foam mattress and an abundance of pillows and blankets that she half burrows herself in. Some of the clutter around her living space mostly revolves around the facts that she trends towards bringing home and sampling the leftovers from the diner, and the fact that she spends a majority of her leisure time plopped down in front of a desk-less computer, or sprawled across a couch that's notably too big for someone her size, playing games or watching television. About the only things she hangs up are her work-uniform and the occasional nicer attire she wears to...well, -would- wear to any more formal events, if she cared for them.
These days, more than anything, Madria's looking for something of a connection. Customers are...usually just that, hungry people...generally -big- people who tend to enjoy larger-than-average portions of food and the occasional topic of conversation. Her co-workers are usually just the casual sort of friends she might go hang with once a week or something, but...it'd be nice just to find someone she can relate her kind of nerdy little interests too, right? ...Oh, and someone that doesn't mind the fact that she stands a bit under chest-high to the average fur...
