NEW YORK CITY?!!
We adopted our little girl from a halfway house in Williamsburg, Va.
She came from a couple in Florida who had Her and one of her Brothers. Their intention was to breed them and sell Beagle Puppies.
She was kept in a crate as pup. We got her at ten months old and she's Never seen the inside of one since!

What's that? That they intended to breed her and make her life a living Hell in a puppy mill? Yeah I agree, but sadly it happens every day. They even tried but failed to dock her tail. Her tail is about ten inches too short as a result. For the longest time she wouldn't let me touch her tail.... Some people are Really F-ed up in the Head!
Yeah, it's pretty sad......but as I said she's been given a Whole New life! She has Complete run of the house and of Myself most day's....
That picture was when we first got her, the first day to be more precise. She weighed 12 pounds then. She's supposed to way between 25 and 35 pounds for her breed.......she weighs in now just at 40! Yes, she's on a diet.....but you have to understand, the previous people starved her also. They only fed her one measuring cup of dry food a day. In addition, it was a Fish formula that basically went right through her so she stayed in a Constant state of starvation. She would eat then thirty minutes later have the diarrhea and be starving again. It's taken a while, but now she understands she's gonna eat three meals a day and get snacks, so she no longer runs around stealing every bite of food that's on the table or in your hand.
I was starved as a child so I know all too well what it feels like.... it's not a good feeling, Trust me.

No quite the opposite. She as all Beagles who are loved Unconditionally, is Very Loyal and protective of her Dad. She would bite if you acted in a hostile manner towards me or tried to come in if I didn't say it was okay.
This is why if we touch then she knows you are friendly and she can trust you because I trust you.
She nearly bite my father on a couple of occasions because he didn't want to listen to me.
While she can be aggressive, Oscar was the one I would fear. He was twice her size and Very aggressive towards strangers. However just like her, when she sees me touch a person, handshake, hug...stuff on that line, then she is fine and will remember you from that moment on, never barking at you again. My wife has family we only see every four or five year's, she remembers them and greets them at the door excited to see them.😊

Wow what a Beautiful Pup!
A very interesting breed, I've always had a fondness for working Breeds. Something about the balance between Brain and Brawn that attracts me to them.
Beagles are much the same in that line only a bit more compact and Very Stubborn when they choose to be.
But they have a Beautiful voice and I've grown quite fond of their Baying and Crying when then get on the scent of something.
I keep Daisy on a leash as Beagles are driven by their nose and once they pick up a scent they become death to the world around them.
However it's a 50' training leed that I use as a leash so she has plenty of run out space.
Jess was a Beautiful Puper!!❤❤
