As a bit of a diversion, while I'm working on other sketches.....
An appropriately (if somewhat ungrammatically) titled selection from my trove of wax cylinders.
A xylophone solo, 6/8 march (what else), by Dudley Roy, on the Edison-Bell label.
Maybe I'll post an audio file of it someday, when I can figure out how to convert it into the right format.... 7@=e
EDIT (10/19/10): You can now hear the record on YouTube:
:link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjERx1hShj0&feature=watch_response :/link:
The sound quality is not great, but it's adequate for a century-old recording....... 7@=e

Holy crap, that's an Edison cylinder! You don't see those much any more. I used to have many amberole cylinders and some players... and even a Diamond Disk player, long time ago. I still have my Double eagle player and those two minute cylinders but I mostly let them just rest now. Pretty cool, yet forgotten stuff. ;)
