gonna try give my characters more love this year. lot of shit happened sporadically and i just kinda. stopped doing things in between.
i like to keep some perspective on these things, a lot of good things happened in 2016 and in a lot of ways 2015 was worse for me personally. a lot of people are calling 2016 the year of realizing things, i guess it was that for me too, but it was also definitely a year of accepting how i've changed, and a year i did a lot of growing up in

ANYWAY i feel like lilith as a character wasnt heading into good territory re: how i was coding her looks along with her personality. i was trying to present lots of traits that are often underrepresented both in my work and in general, but she was kinda getting uncomfortably close to being an offensive stereotype of black women instead.
i think this is especially because i wasnt actually DOING anything with her or like doing research on any of the traits i was throwing in, so overall i pretty much just made a token character for myself to feel good about rather than anyone else to see themselves in - which even though it was accidental, was pretty reprehensible.

ok. now that ive built a wall of text, this year im hoping to improve in the writing and design of my characters, and HOPEFULLY actually do something with them for once!
