We all started off bad, but if we all gave up instead of getting back on the proverbial bicycle, you wouldn't have any pretty art to look at at all... because we all sucked at one point. The difference is, we didn't say to ourselves "I suck, and I can never get better." Instead, we said "I suck, so I need to try twice as hard to get better!"
