Another tip in what you choose to draw is emotions or interests, For instance, I like to talk but i need to have someone start a conversation with me because I'm sort of a shy person and I get nervous when I start talking when I've started a conversation. Usually, I will start talking but stutter and go cold when doing it and sometimes I start to sweat (and that's no joke). I need to get to know a person in order to talk without becoming a bit shakey when chatting. This would be an emotion or feeling that helped me make this image. Others may have one where they are cocky, confident or just love being a smart arse and pissing others off where as some are shy, a nervous wreck or someone who finds it hard to socialise. Most would draw from them. If it was interests you were drawing from, whether it is gaming or drawing, you could do a drawing of you drawing yourself.

Usually, using themes such as own interests, feelings and emotions can be helpful for some, like me. Sometimes i struggle on what to draw but when I think of something, it is usually something related to me. Now like i said before, I am not art expert, this is just my opinion and what I do when struggling for ideas. It is always good to think of something related to you and use that to your own advantage when drawing. That what are is all about really, You do it what you like and how you like it done.

This took about 5 Hours (Quicker then the head shot I did somehow) on PaintTool Sai using the pencil, blur and airbrush tools.
