How long do you suppose he sat there trying to get that pose just right to
maximize the effect when the viewer walked in to see him laying there?

No I didn't.
The structure is perfect for a toon, peoples perception can be wrong, like his lower right leg is behind the other, thats why it looks shorter, and one side of the torso does get shorter when bent that way, etc.
Amazing, when I get something right , everyone thinks its not >_<
