Mekambe had really tried. He'd kept himself from yelling, he'd spoken reasonably and he'd tried not to jump to conclusions. Awreff's retort however finally sent a wave of the usual searing anger through him. His first impulse was to dig his claws into his face and rip that idiotic smile right off. Instead, he shouted: "Are you fucking kidding me? Love? Are you so naive or just stupid?!" He was about to continue, when he caught sight of his apprentice.
Taburo was watching him intently. There was no threat in his posture, just alertness. The strange way he seemed to be looking right through him at the same time told Mekambe that he was probably not even aware of it. It was the reaction of an animal that had noticed a possible threat to a packmember. Mekambe felt betrayed for a second, and then a very final sense of defeat. Taburo had indeed made his choice, and any further discussion was pointless.

Yeah, not really happy with this one, quite uncomfortable actually. :|

uuuh, full background. I love it! Especially the fire.
The posture of Taburo is amazing. From the calm but cautious expression, to his hands and down to his legs, his whole composition looks so natural and flowing. His right leg looks a little weird but it's pretty hard to pull off this perspective with this light source.
The whole perspective is catchy an interesting, and everyone is well-placed in this. The eyes follow the path Mekambe-Awreff-Taburo just like they appear in the short text you wrote. And this beautiful from-detailed-to-rough background... really nice.
The text is an interesting passage of the story... I remember Mekambe from your old drawings and wasn't quite sure where he fits in, but this little glimpse helped with that!

Thanks a lot! That's almost more positivity than I can handle. ^^;
Story-wise, that part is fairly new and I didn't draw any of it before. Tab's and his master's story arc is pretty long anyway and comes in 3 parts. Part 1: Where everyone is mortal enemies and fights a lot. There's lots of unnecessary angst and blood and in the end their conspiracy is put down with force. Part 2: The two are captured alive, and Mekambe is out of the picture for a while. Tab makes a half-assed attempt at integrating with normal society but in the end decides that this is all too crazy and lets his rage get the better of him. However both get exempt from uh, termination, because there's this guy with triangles on his face and he's got an army and we can use any help we can get, yes, it's that bad. Part 3: The war is on, Tab and Awi reunited and make a fresh start, while Mekambe causes the No some trouble and then tries to play both sides against each other. That goes well for a while, and then it doesn't.

Sad to hear you are dissapointed on this one, i cant really find much things i dont like or feel out of place. That definitively-not-based-on-darth-maul really got me, is amazing, everything about it. The lightning is impressive and the background is very detailed, I cant imagine how much time you spent on those leaves at the left with the fire light and everything.
I have a feeling like the other two are a little less detailed than lizdarth maul, but I would not really know how to comment on that as is really subtle.
I cant find a mistake .-. I really like everything really.
