Hey look, I actually delivered! I suppose I should try to get a bit of commentating on these pics? In order then!
* The voltorb seem to be such a simple pic; just a big circle. But believe it or not, it's a lot harder to get smooth lines on the 3ds than one think, even though I have the xl version! Still, it's a simple lesson and it goes on by default.
* The hoppip was actually a warmup sketch I did before doing the pumpkaboo below, but I was surprised how good it was that I decided to add it in!
* Pumpkaboo is fun to draw! When I just finished it, I was disappointed in how long I spent drawing the thicker lines, but the more I look at it the more I like it!
* I took a break when Fletchling was next up, because I was REALLY discouraged at how annoying it looked. Then I learned a little... trick. Call it cheating or not, but I used the zoomed in camera to place dots where I would draw. How? You can see on the top screen where you are on the zoomed in view! Only reason I did this was because there was NO way for me to use the construction shapes as guides for the wings! But that's all I used it for, the rest was drawn honestly. Hell, the dots were nothing but guidelines, I still had to make the lines smooth myself. Came out very nicely in the end.
* Jirachi I did the initial outlines of and colored it in, then I took another break because birthday was rolling in and I got into Borderlands 2 again. The dotting came in again to make sure I got the 3 wishletters correctly, but just like the Fletchling, they were nothing but guidelines. Was surprisingly happy with how it came out, and the triangles were correct this time! :D
* Chandelure I admit was pretty sloppy. Comparing it to the old one which I did in half an hour, I would argue this is borderline worse. I dunno, you'll have to choose on your own. The old one's in my scraps.
* Finally, the apprentice Pikachu. I once again used the dotting, but only for the tail to make sure it was straight and I didn't draw a war veteran of some kind. Had a lot of fun with the shading surprisingly enough, though I admit the right top of the ear could've been fixed had it not had the same color as the background. Compared to the Chandelure, this one was DEFINITELY better than the original!
Let's see how the next set goes, because here I'm gonna be forced to craft the construction shapes by myself.
