I like imagining my char's metabolisms being relatively slow - a meal their own size, assuming its not heavily armored or resistant to acid, would take a week or two to process. So I'd say he'd be rounding out that belly for a good week, then spend another 3 ~ 7 days all squishy in a rapidly shrinking bulge. After which another few days will need to pass whilst he absorbs and eventually reforms to do whatever he does when he's all dragony and solid. ^^
