The most gorgeous merman[e] I've ever seen!
Throughout history, mermaids have been popular as the subject of legends, stories, and pop culture. They truly came into the mainstream, however, with Disney's 1989 adaptation of Hans Christian Anderson's The Little Mermaid. Conversely, their male counterparts (mermen) have been much less prevalent. Originally celebrated as deities of the sea, they slowly faded back into the legends as ordinary mythological sea creatures who are shy and rarely surface above the waves. While I can understand why this happened, I feel like mermen should be given more of a chance to shine. In my opinion, they can be just as beautiful and compelling.
