So, about a month and a half ago I was feeling pretty down and out, so
and his flatmate kidnapped me and I spent about a week in Brighton while the weather was sunny and downright amazing.
While I was there, his flatmat also got a new bed and I had this huge double-bed sized blank cardboard staring at me. I couldnt help it, I had to touch it and get my filthy inks all over it. Oh baby!
I really have no explaination for why I drew what I did, except that I -had- to draw the lochness monster. And there had to be underbites. My pen pretty much did all the talking from there.
It's basically a WIP at this stage, as they loved it so much they want to keep it up as a mural now and I'm going to have to go back and splash some colors on it at some point. B:
The photo was taken by Luna's flatmate and sent to me, where I then played with it to make it a little less photo-like and put some nice grimey textures on it.
I know it's not really furry, but I do draw rubbish outside the fandom too,.... . . sometimes.

WELL, CLEARLY IT IS SYMBOLIC OF OUR TROUBLED ECONOMIC TIMES. THE SEA CREATURE REPRESENTS THE CONSUMER, WHO HAS BEEN ENSLAVED TO THE WHIMS OF CRAZED, SOULLESS, SQUARE CORPORATIONS. THE OCEAN IS THE TURBULENT SEAS OF FATE, WHEREAS THE BIRD STANDS FOR THOSE WHO TRIED TO WARN US OF THE IMPENDING DOOM, BUT WENT UNHEEDED.
AS FOR THE MOON, HE'S JUST GRUMPY BECAUSE THERE'S A FLAG IN HIS HEAD. YOU'D BE GRUMPY IF YOU HAD A FLAG IN YOUR HEAD TOO. GOSH. >:[

well everything about this is cool. The cardboard actually makes a pretty sweet background (I thought it was added later in photoshop when I first saw it)
Also whoever took this photo is a really good photographer. This pic goes way above all the other oversized-art-photographs I see posted here, so good work!
You can just leave it at their house and digitally color it from the photo. Those blacks are so solid it would be easy to isolate them from the background

Nope, unlike a lot of the carbdoard art I post up, this one was actually done on the cardboard :3 Only thing done in photoshop was some cropping and added a lil texture for interest ^_^
I was thinking of digitally coloring it. but mostly so I could plan out the colors and such for when I go back to it with real media.

The only thing missing is a monocle :D Ohgawd I just spotted the flag on the moon! Love it! p|
Next time you're down in Brighton, gimme a nose and I'll swing by after work and call you a dingbat :)
This is an incredibly cool piece, UV. Would you mind if I used it as a desktop wallpaper?
