Nice picture but usually after a shooting you keep your gun on target until you're sure the threat has been stopped, then you holster, cuff(you just shot them for a reason), then check vitals and render aid if necessary/no wounds "inconsistent with life" exist.

I was in the USAF Security Police back in the '70s, this is based upon actual events that occurred back then (she was called 'The Pook'), then you have no idea how much time has passed since her light was shot out, do you?

If her light was actually hit she should be on point until there's another officer or three on scene. Gun doesn't do a lot pointed up. Sucks if you were in this situation. As you'll know, contrary to popular movies, cops prefer to not have to use force.

Well in answer I WAS her backup, I was also dealing with two other Filipinos some thirty yards to her North who had broken into that several thousand square foot warehouse. There were two patrols responding (one man each) the closest over a mile away the other nearly four. This was Clarke AFB in the early 1970's, we were on our own and that was not unusual, in fact being completely alone was not unusual. The entire 'police force' on midnight shift was less that a hundred twenty to cover 14.3 square miles, that includes canine patrol, ramp rats and we LE members, the guys in white hats at the main gates. It was not uncommon for me to patrol some five miles of fence-line (main gate to the weapons depot) alone at night for example. As to the positioning of the character ask the artist, I have no problem with the image other than Pook was holding a S&W Combat Masterpiece with a 6" barrel. A revolver not an automatic. That thing, it was common for factory ball-rounds to bounce off a human target, damn things were junk. Any other questions about the event please feel free to note me.
