so i made these guys a species!! i thought they were cute n a couple of u seemed interested so :'''0 (a.n.<<that was on dA)
over the time of doodling this i thought of some lore type stuff sO:
they were the first in a line of cyborgs created for a thing called "project axiom-asset" (they were originally called ALPHA.01 instead of delta) (axiom bc it's the material/alloy that was specifically developed to be used in their core to power them using a new self-charging element/technique) done by some kinda secret agency/government type thing. they were designed to operate mainly as a spying/intelligence gathering asset but were also equipped for basic combat in case they were captured/seen
hoWEVER there was an unexpected flaw in the coding of their AI so instead of being purely mission-driven tools, they're completely self-aware and don't care at all about anything having to do with work
they're incredibly mischevious and snarky, so much so that they'd gang up and intentionally sabotage their designers attempts at figuring out where on earth they went so terribly wrong in the programming (they eventually did figure it out though and three more lines of similar cyborgs were manufactured for the original purpose [BETA.01, GAMMA.01, and DELTA.01]. after a couple months the organization decided to rename the original ones (these guys) DELTA.01 because they wanted an actually functional team to be called alpha lmfao)
so now these guys just live around the organization complex (bc they obviously can't be let free and all of them are too cunning to let anyone near enough to deactivate them) and entertain themselves by pulling """pranks""" around the base (from replacing the coffee with oil to putting saran wrap on the toilet seats to deleting some vital piece of software and sending the entire place into lockdown)

their spying/combat features are still entirely functional and includeeee:
a flexible midriff/spine, four fangs that act as injections (which inject whatever substance is loaded into them [sometimes they fill themselves up with.,,hallucinogenics of various types.,,,..and bite everyone they can and watch the following debaucle]), a speaker in their "mouth" which can play audio from either the internet, radio, or something they recorded themselves (which would've been useful in practice for relaying messages), and three wifi/transmission/radio receivers that can either be tapped into by the one who they would've been an asset for to give commands oR be used by themselves to browse wifi/radio (and project onto their LED screen if they choose)
