Lay the ink down enough to be 'wet' then push it around. It works for blending too

How do you not destroy the paper and/or markers? Granted the last time I touched a marker was when I was a little kid, but I remember the paper always turning into a soggy mess and the color of each marker changing to puke brown from the slightest contact with one of the other colors on the page.

DEFINITELY depends on the paper you use. I tend to like Bristol board; now I'm using some generic 'ink and marker' paper from Michaels. Unless you get a heavier weight paper, it'll bleed. i also tend to color over my pencil work, THEN ink.

I finally, after ages of longing looks, invested in my first tin of prismacolors, after having used them in school. Now I'm afraid to use them because they were EXPENSIVE and I don't want to waste them.
