Art progress as a complete beginner (2 year milestone)
This is just a quick re-draw of one of the first images I've ever done; a head icon of the mischievous entrepreneur--Marrow the Titanhide dragon.
My art journey started in January 1st 2015. Learning to draw had been my New Year's resolution way back then. I liked the idea of having a 'yearly' image to draw, to keep track of my art progress as I stumble through year after year.
The first ever complete image I drew was an icon like this, 3 months after I picked up the stylus for the first time. Then I drew that same image a year later to mark my first milestone image. (The link to those two images is here)
So yeah, this one's the 2nd milestone image.
Honestly, I am grateful for all of you guys watching, fav-ing, and leaving generous comments in my submissions/journals. And especially thankful to those who commissioned me! I'm close to reaching 2000 watchers, which is truly mind-boggling as I was only on 500 or so watchers just 6 months ago. (Much love goes to the LGBT fur community on Facebook for making Dragon Daycare #14 go viral for a week.)
And I will be rolling out the free YCH comics soon as my way of thanking you all. Hopefully I'll start the first one in early February. And if I can manage to get my schedule in order, I could possibly make it a monthly thing.
Also, I need to do more writing stuff this year. I kinda miss the thrill and mental adventure of working on a new novel.

yea NORMALLY I would be but work has been screwy lately and it fucked with my usual sleep cycle XD so idk when I will and wont be on nowadays @.@
and yay! tbh once you've read up to at least book 8 (maybe 8,5...) I would love, LOVE for you to draw Mireshaker, my WoF FC. since your style fits WoF characters really well imo! problem is he involves some heavy spoilers so no drawing him yet! or reading his bio!
drat how to keep such a fatty from going through my journals for the time being. *light bulb* look Rimmy, CAKE! *tosses a cake in a random direction*

Thanks! I'm hoping I'm not coming across as too show-offy about my progress. But yeah, it's very possible for anyone to achieve the same results if they're committed enough. When I have my own site running sometime this year I hope to start writing articles to help other beginners make a start on their art journeys.
It makes me happy to see someone so dedicated to getting better at doing what they love, I wish I was as dedicated as you are, because I'm lazy XD
I want to draw to get better but eh, that might be down the road; for you though, keep getting better and better, as the quality you have now is jones toy pretty professional looking as it stands! Keep pushing forward!~

I'm not gonna lie, learning to draw during my first 2 years has been insanely frustrating. And far too often I get discouraged to improve, because of how difficult everything was. Had to fight my sense of laziness to keep pushing on.
But so long as you persist and keep working on your weaknesses, there's bound to be improvements. Small improvements all add up!

It's always fun to go back and touch up things you did when you first started. I did that with a few of my feature productions and used them as advertising demos later on. Being able to notice the difference from then, versus now, just fills you with confidence. Congrats on everything! =D
It's always a joy to see how artists improve year after year. And congrats on gaining such a huge amount of watchers in such a short amount of time!
Super glad to have found your page to Watch here on FA! I can't wait to see what more awesome dragon stuff comes from you in the future!
