Back in 2003 on my first day of art class in high school and I tried to draw Dean Potter from the cover of Outside magazine. I was used to drawing cartoon animals, so I chose for my very first assignment the most challenging thing I could think of to draw, the male figure.

Needless to say I was eager for the next four years of art education ahead of me.

I have been wanting to redraw this guy for the longest time just to see how I measure up now. I hope Dean would be proud!

In 2016 I started journaling daily. Part of that writing process has been to write 3 things I am grateful for each morning.

I'm going to share those three things along with a short speed paint each morning Mon-Fri.
This practice has benefited me artistically as well as emotionally. My hope is that by sharing this, you guys can feel some of those good vibes too :)
