Here's an entry for the
furry_musicians Express Yourself contest! I noticed there was a serious lack of rock 'n' roll among the submissions, and I just couldn't let that stand.
I played/sang everything, even the drums (which is why they're not very interesting). Bass was super fun though. If it sounds a little lo-fi, that's because it was all recorded in Audacity with my single microphone. So at least it's good, honest lo-fi! I did try to record this one as if it were being performed live; each part is one continuous track, although I did have to record the drums as two separate parts because I seriously suck at drumming.
This song fit pretty neatly in the one-minute limit. I don't even think it needs any more verses. I would've liked to get a little crazier on the guitar lead at the end, but I thought it was more important to reprise the intro theme clearly. Maybe someday I'll be the kind of guitarist who can do both.
My guitar rig for both parts is a Gibson Blueshawk through a Fender Blues Jr. with no effects/pedals.
Lyrics:
I get so impatient
Waiting on your little dots
You're hoping I'm not watching
Hoping somehow I forgot
I tab out to collect my thoughts
Head off my heart attack
And brace myself to see what you wrote back
