Yes, great for visiting but for living... It is a desert! I lived in Joshua Tree (1 mile from the park) for 8 years 9 years?? something like that

I have never been just sounds nice, my mate's parents own a house there and are always going. I lived my whole life in the desert and have only been to the desert states.

Yay I love that place. Looks kinda like the Hidden Valley area there. Used to have 5 acres out there near the 29 Palms base.

Deserts are something I never learned to love, perhaps because we're kind of short of them on this soggy gulfstreamed continent. Lovely photo though!

One of the most contrasting thing I have ever seen was when I was driving to the Grand Canyon on a late autumn morning. It had just snowed that night. To see snow on the huge saguaros was really an awe inspiring thing. The desert has it's own beauty. }:=)
