For clarity's sake: the implication in panel two is not that Sam also wants to be a girl, though that idea is what makes the mom freak out so much. Given that transsexuals occur about once for every 30,000 births, two in one family would be fantastically unlikely (though it has probably happened somewhere). Sam is just a curious little boy, that's all.
I'm less happy with the art on this page, but I'm okay with that because it has more ambitious poses in it. Also, several hands. It looks good enough for me, plus page 4 will totally make up for it.

I had a "play dress up" situation that was more complicated than that. The result of having my very first friend be a girl - her mother was a bit too open-minded.
On top of that, at age eight I wore a school-mate's cheerleader uniform under my clothes to school, so my mom could get the girl's measurements using me in front of the girl's mother. The girl couldn't stand in at the time as she was practicing.

Well..to answer that question with two transsexuals in one family.. My brother is a transsexual and was diagnosed as such and i myself strongly believe i am too, i believe my family does indeed have two or more in the same family, i'm even noticing signs in my baby sister and brother, since my 4 year old brother is feminine while my 3 year old sister is masculine.. so if that keeps up i guess you can call that FOUR in the same family
I'd just like to note, I found later that the 1 in 30,000 figure is incorrect. That's actually the proportion of physical males who've received SRS, and a very large number of transsexuals never get SRS due to the cost and risk and all that. Some evidence suggests it may be as prevalent as 1 in 500. So multiple transsexuals in one family is much more likely than I thought it was (though still rare, surely).
There's also a possible genetic component: mtf transsexuals are more likely than cisgendered men to have a long version of the androgen receptor gene. This makes testosterone work less efficiently, and may lead to the brain being insufficiently masculinized while the child is developing in the womb. So if a parent carries this gene it should make their sons more likely to be transsexual.
Still, that sounds like a very unique and interesting family!

I hear that male homosexuality might also be partially genetic, or at least serve an evolutionary purpose- I'm pretty sure I read an obsevation or theory that suggested that in families with homosexual males, the female siblings of the homosexual male had more children than females usually do. Supposedly because the females had the same gene sequence that, in them, triggered an increased attraction to males, while in the male sibling(s) it just caused an attraction to men. (supposedly.) It makes a lot of sense, actually...
