as much as I try to avoid having to go out in public, there are times when it becomes unavoidable. and now that I have outstretched my favorite maternity wear, a trip to the mall was a must. thankfully there wasn't a whole lot of furs at the mall during this time. still the few stares and idle whispers as I walk by tend to still make me blush in embarrassment. but still, at least the maternity wear wasn't far from the entrance. stretchy pants, plush full body pillows, this place had everything I could need for my permanent pregnant body. as I made my way to get the things I needed, I had a chance to see who else was inside the store, and only a few were browsing, one a pregnant cougar and the other a tall wolf male, guessing they both were together. and the only other fur in the store was a maternity wear employee, and as I glanced over, for a brief second his eyes and mine locked. immediately his gaze broke, focusing on something else. I blush realizing that he was starring at me.

after looking through and picking what I needed, I made my way to the register, giving a smile to the cashier who returned the smile and greeted me,

"hello, find everything you need?"

"yeah, I did" placing the items on the counter, he started scanning them one by one. as he scanned, he was making a few glances towards me.

"don't mean to pry.. but are you..?"

blushing as i softly rub my belly a bit. "y-yeah i am.. its all right, i get that a lot."

"i can imagine.. boyfriend's pretty lucky." giving me a smile as he finishes the scanning and starts putting the items into the bags.

"oh um.. i don't have one."

he pauses in between the bagging. "oh.. so your.. single?"

"y-yeah.." looking at him as he finished bagging the items.

"ahh.. well.." he pressed a few buttons on the register. "you have anyone in mind then?"

seeing the register bring up a amount, taking out my wallet. "w-well.. i don't know.. im too awkward to go for anyone.. why?" giving him my debit card to compete the transaction.

taking the card, he swiped it. ".. i might know someone who might like to get to know you." looking at me with a smile, his tail snaking behind swaying. "that is.. if your interested in him."

blushing brightly realizing what he was saying. i wasn't sure what to say.. though.. gotta admit he looked nice.. giving him a blushing smile i respond saying "i-i might be.. maybe if we have some time to get to know each other."

he smiled giving me back my card. "that's good to hear. im sure he wouldn't mind that at all." as the receipt prints out, he takes a pen out from his pocket, takes the receipt and starts writing something on it. looks back up at me as he slides the receipt to my hand. "your receipt." he gives me a wink as his tongue glides across his muzzle. taking the receipt and bags i smile blushing. "t-thanks." i turn to leave the store, getting one look back at him, waving bye to me still smilling. curious as to what he wrote on the receipt, i look at the back, and on it was written a phone number. so perhaps it seems i got much more then just essentials today.
