How sweet Protection and care are the reasons why a difference in size between characters is good. And I love that tail :)
I also dig the composition very much, it helps focussing on the characters and at the same time ecplains their interaction in relation with the environment; and adds a further level of intimacy.
By the way, how much did it take you to paint the rain? It's very realistic!
