This happened time ago, but it happened many times xD. I convinced my little brother to play Street Fighter IV with me, but my cousins arrived and we have to switch to FIFA.
It always happens that no one wants to play anything else than FIFA. My brothers only play FIFA, my cousins only play FIFA, my classmates only play FIFA, everyone I know only play FIFA. And I don't like FIFA…
A few days ago, nintendo reveals new information about nintendo switch, and i'm really excited about it.
When I was a kid, I always wanted a nintendo console, but my older brothers never liked them and always ended buying a PlayStation.
First, when we asked our parents for a console, just because they were older they were the "ones who knows", and because i was younger "i didn't know anything". Then, because they earned their own money and could buy whatever they want. So, I always had to go along with their decisions.
I liked the idea of the Wii because of the motion control, but they said it didn't had games and was for kids, so they bought a PS3. My brother say that playstation is better because it have x-game or y-game, but i don't know how he can say that if he has NEVER played those games. I think he only believes that because some people or the media say it, but he doesn't really know if those games are good, or even fun.
I liked the DS because I could draw and make animations with Flipnote Studio, but they bought a PSP. The funny thing is that they never bought games for it, and just installed a thing that runs NES games
My brother bought a PS4 only and exclusively to play FIFA, but got tired of it and now only use the console to watch anime on Crunchyroll. I sometimes play Neverwinter on it, but just because it was free on Playstation Store and there was nothing else. But anyway, the TV is in my brother's room, so i can only play like 1 or 2 hours after work and when my brother isn't at home.
But now I earn my own money and can bought whatever I want, so I no longer had to be in order of what my brothers thinks is the "best option".
What really interest me of the nintendo switch is that they returned the motions controllers that the Wii had. I always wanted to use them. I felt a bit let down when I saw the Wii U and it didn't had those controllers (the Wii U still could use the wii controllers and play like the Wii? I still don’t know <_<).
To be honest, i'm more excited about ARMS than Zelda. Thats exactly the kind of game I want to play, with that kind of controls. I think it looks really fun, but i don't know why I have noticed in many places that people don't like the idea. They even fell relieved when hear that the game can be played with the pro controller instead of the motion controllers. Why? I tought thats was what make it fun. Someone please tell me if there is something wrong with the motion controllers or why people don't like them.
And the best thing is that it has a screen, so I don't need to buy a TV. I realize that nowadays, buying a TV is a waste of money, at least for me. There is nothing good on cable TV, there are really good shows on Netflix, I watch anime on Crunchyroll and I read the news on the internet. So, buying a TV is unnecessary because I have everything on the internet. I don't even remember when was the last time I sit to watch TV.
And that's for why I think the Nintendo Switch is the best option for me. I don't think I can buy it the first day, or even this year (i'm planning to move to my own apartment), but I will definitely buy it.
Damn, I wrote a lot xD

but... NES games are nintendo games... XD
but yeah, the main reason people don't enjoy motion controls is because they don't trust motion controls. you would think it's more immersive but it has problems giving feedback to the player like holding a physical controller and using buttons does. If you mistime a button press, you know it's either because you were too late or pushed the wrong button, but if you fail an action with motion controls, you don't know if it's because you were too late, because you moved the wrong way, or because the control doesn't know how to register the way you move. There's a lot of motion games where people struggle and struggle just to figure out which way you're suppose to swing the WiiMote.
That said, the Switch does look like it's improving on the problem with the rumble feature. I don't think it will ever reach the simplicity of using buttons but anything that can do to increase feedback will help.
