When they are left alone for longer time they usually look a little insulted. My Mom usually makes up with them with a little brushing which they love so much :)

I wonder that too, I only know what it's like to be owned by them. In all honesty it varies from cat to cat. Mine are more like dogs than the stereotypical idea of a cat. The one thing that's the same in all cats is that they believe themselves to be in charge although some are more subtle, but most cat owners don't mind, it's just part of owning a cat.
