- was sitting on the fire escape right outside my living room window. Usually it's the occasional pigeon, but this guy was like the size of three of them (which I suspect he dines on regularly).
When he spread his wings (which had to be twice as long as what you see here - and look at the size of his tail feathers!) I couldn't help but exclaim "whoa!" which might've scared him off, although it looks like he was ready to hit the sky anyway.
I'm guessing "hawk;" any ornithologists in the audience?

Are you sure you're not thinking of "Hudson Hawk"? He was from Hollywood - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hudson_Hawk
