A reference picture of my character's pet creature, the somewhat pampered Kinarra.
Expect to see more of her in future!

I've seen normal human food artificially animated, I was a tad to disturbed to eat it. Methinks, I'd leave it as entertaining shapes.
So these creatures are they always bonded? Or can other races bond as well?
Ugh, I've a small laundry list of questions, this pair is very thought invoking. Well done on an amazing design

Well these beings are engineered so I'm sure several parameters could be altered but, here's the ones that immediately popped to mind:
longevity- in comparison to Terran human lifespans, are these species immortal in that sense or does the bond cause them to age with their bonder?
Are they able to function in packs or is strictly a one to one ratio?
Do these creatures gourge them selves? Hence the food limiter?
Aside from being a biological tank, do they have combat prowess- i.e. Protect their bond or being and or object they are ordered to guard? I've seen horses, fighting
predators to protect their riders but, I'm talkin full on guard as in this was an assigned task, not instinct.
If in emergency situations, can these creatures supplement their diet on native sources? I.e. Meat from local game, fruit from wilds?
What would be the standard biome for creatures like this to not need any adaptive tech used? The fruit in their diet leaves me to think tropical

Longevity: They last as long as they desire, immortal until their personality diffuses with others or is destroyed. Bodies last as long as physics allows.
Packs: They can function as a group mind, up to a point. They do typically live in large groups of family / friends, the latter are typically more connected.
Food: Monako typically wouldn't, but if Kari so desired, yes she would probably gorge on food as their medical tech can prevent obesity / other conditions.
Tanks: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/17375687/ Yes, they can protect their connected rider / partner. The Wrought have much bigger and more heavily militarised platforms for combat situations, which are more machine in appearance.
Hunting: Yes! The wrought and their creatures love to hunt, and their anatomy allows bio-compatibility with alien proteins / compounds.
Biome: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/17697523/ The wrought initially emerged on several worlds with different geography. These two live on Nakovalnia, a rocky-mountain analogue planet. Others live in space habitats etc.

She could be! But they are mentally linked so it would be pretty awkward, and Monako is too big to eat.
There aren't cats or dogs on their planet but she would be pretty tempted to gobble up livestock!
Wrought don't encounter humans very often but I imagine that you wouldn't want to hang around to find out.
