Pardon the crappy 1.3 mpxl cell phone photo.. my 5 mpxl digital's battery is nuked.
This is a wand that I made 15 years ago, when I was 15. It's constructed from gold-dipped quartz ("Aqua Aura"), malachite, amethyst, a very large Mayne Island barnacle shell, cotton cloth, glue, and local broad-leafed maple as the shaft. I rarely use it, but it's still very special and important to me, so I will keep it around for most of my life.

I'm an eclectic pagan, mostly solitary in my practices, focusing on earth energies, plants, water, and dryads. If that makes me a kook, then so be it. This wand has ceremonial value to me, and is used for directing/conducting intent. Most spiritually-inclined folks communicate their mythos through tools and symbolism.
I have met several other pagans and we are as different as snow flakes. There are enough common beliefs shared in each branch or 'tradition' that several pagans can be assembled to form a circle or enjoy a group ritual, but each of us has enough differences in what we believe to be true, for ourselves, that getting something more concrete and meaningful happening on the group scale can be difficult. I still feel like an alien, even though I spent two years working with local pagans. The Wiccans and Reclaiming witches seem to dominate where I live, and I don't feel like I belong with any of them, so I walk my own lonely path.
I feel the same... no one knows a SINGLE... EFFING... THING... when it comes to "magic" or energy manipulation. Besides, It makes sense; and how could you deny it anyways? I mean, COME ON, peoples, people do inexplicable things every day! There have been formal, scientific tests on that kind of stuff, and they support the evidence!!
Oh, and I've formulated a logical, scientific theory that explains everything supernatural that ever happened. There are more than ten dimensions, at least 11. Every dimension influences dimensions "below" it. The dimension of Thought is #6, Energy is #5, Time is #4, Space(matter) is #3, and so on. So, while we exist in the third dimension, we think in the sixth. Thus, everything between that(Energy, Time, and, of course, Matter and Thought themselves) is malleable to any sentient being. Also, Prayer is the reaching out of thoughts, so anything brought about by that is explicable on a... simpler... level, one that does not involve deities.

Heh, a physicist would argue with you that space is defined as the absense of matter, so by lumping them together you'd get them up in arms. You're also making the human body sound like a TARDIS, existing in the 3rd dimension, while also having components that extend beyond the fathomable scope. I would rather keep anything vaguely Christian OFF of my FA profile, if at all possible, but I do understand where you're heading on the topic of prayer. My own personal interpretation of prayer is that it is another tool to be used as a conductor of intent. The first level of goal-setting, through which you bring about the changes that you want for yourself in your own life. I think it is an arrogant misuage of the tools we are provided to try to affect change in the lives of other people. Focus on improving yourself, and hope that others will do the same for themselves. In this world, all you have is yourself, so make the most of what you've got and strive for better if you want it.
I help people. I'm compelled to do it, I have no idea why, but I do... I could touch your arm, and then tell you everything about your personality. I automatically know where celestial bodies are, I know the exact and precise location of my friends as long as they're within 70 feet. I can make it really hard to notice people by staring at them for long enough; I call this "vanishing". I speak languages I've never heard, and I recently discovered that I can translate the more ancient languages, Jewish and things like that. I have just begun to attempt shifts into my fursona, and I have been making progress. And I would do anything in my power to help those around me, as long as they have not wronged me. I receive short visions of the future on a regular basis, and they're coming more and more often. My self appears to be helping itself, and I'man excellent inventor. In fact, I recently described my abilities as: Grand Inventor, Master Artificer, Lux Adept, Energy Manipulist, Crystal Mage, and Reader-of-Things.
