The Nut Job and its sequel's posters for Squirrel Day (Jan 21st.) There's one tiiiny difference between the first and second movies, can you spot it?
It seems, in a series about nuts and starring squirrels, one of the only three squirrel characters in the first movie has just... vanished. No explanation, no cameo, totally kept off all posters and trailers... gone.
My guess is that Andie got sick of him, killed him and stuffed the body in a dumpster. It's the most logical conclusion.
This isn't actually my Squirrel Day submission, I did three things for it, but none of them are going here.

I really don't understand why they took Grayson out, it doesn't make any sense, he was the park hero, all the animals looked up to him.
In the nut job 2 I hope they will at least explain what happened to him. To just completely take him out with no explanation is a bit of an
insult to the fans.

I don't know how 'with' Andie he is, certainly the trailer is hardly filled with mushy romance. (Honestly, Precious gets closer to him.) But I don't think Grayson would mind too much, he's the *park* hero, I suspect he gets enough attention from everyone else to not really notice the absence of one doe.

Well I guess even if Grayson was to return, he'll nicely say that Surly's the real hero Andie deserves. Something I got from The Lego Movie. :P
But yeah, Grayson pretty much will be missed. People sure made him the life of the TNJ fandom here on FA, too.

And I guess it might be dead. Before then though, he used to always comment on people's TNJ fanart and such. He had commented on mine too. It was really cool of them to make roleplay accounts of the characters such as him, though on the Buddy account he called Surly a jerk just like almost everyone else does...

Aaah but that's just the technical reason. (Plus it'd depend on what 'replace' means in this context; it seems unlikely it was a straight replacement since the two characters aren't much alike and couldn't use the same plot. So my guess would be simple conservation of detail, i Feng was to be in *something* had to be cut. And there was a spare squirrel so...)
