2 things I wanna rant about:
1: Why is FA only accepting SWF files for animation!
2: Why doesn't OBS save into SWF?
Anyway, 2nd time uploading a gif, because it looked silly before...
also, the thumbnail of that image is completely messed
BAH! anyway, facerig! new model!
worked on it for about 7 hours
Trying to convert it to SWF: 10 hours D:<

Flash was popular when Fur Affinity started (~2005). But now, browser creators and Adobe (who owns Flash now) are actively trying to replace it with technologies built into Web browsers, including HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, Canvas, Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG), and WebGL, to name a few. The browser can better handle drawing and computing, skipping what's not on the screen, which is a big deal for mobile browsers (they never supported Flash in the first place).
Delivery of video is very expensive, both in storage, as well as in bandwidth, something hard to do for websites with a limited audience like furry art websites. Weasyl does allow you to embed YouTube videos. Fur Affinity, however, is still stuck in 2005 for the most part, although the lack of adpting new web technologies also has a few upsides.
OBS does default to saving into .flv, but it doesn't really make any sense to save a video sequence into an interactive format. OBS Studio is Open Source, though. In theory, someone could add that support to saving as .swf.
However, .swf doesn't support H.264/AVC ( https://superuser.com/questions/547.....ert-mp4-to-swf ), which is what most video streaming websites ingest. Bundling the codec that .swf requires might make OBS a (slightly) larger download.

ya know, when I type up that rant, I wasn't expecting a reply XD
but I do kinda understand that swf is a rotating format and I don't think IMVU would wanna put money just to upgrade such tiny part of FA
hm... maybe I could put it in the steam workshop. not sure if people would appreciate though

I guess the point of .swf is to show off your animation work, if furry art websites allowed uploading videos then everybody would just start doing mostly boring webcam videos? (Never mind that these days it's getting harder and harder to create .swf, so animations would be GIFs or videos anyway.)
I'd appreciate it, I feel there aren't enough choices for FaceRig avatars.
