Now HERE'S a rarity -- fanart!
I try not to draw a lot of fanart, mostly because I don't feel comfortable selling fanart at conventions -- aside from all the recent crackdowns conventions have started lately (from original art minimums to total display bans), it just isn't good business sense to hitch your wagon to someone else's trademarks and it stifles original artwork besides.
... Commissions, however, are apparently fair game, which is how this little beauty came to be.
http://ff9zidanegal.deviantart.com/ over at DeviantArt asked for a badge of Zidane from Final Fantasy IX since she had such a terrible time finding anything of him, because apparently he straddles the fine line between "furry" and "anime" enough that most other folks won't even touch him.
Hey, more for me. ;) He's a to-order commission at this point, just like any other.
Just to keep everything nice and fair-usey, this is technically an affectionate parody of how ridiculous some of Squeenix's character designs can be. The chocobo boxers and any incidental fanservice of his pants falling down is purely coincidental.

ZIDAIN!! *squees all fanboyishly* Okay, my moment's done (for now)
FF 9 was my first FF game, and still one of my favorites. I liked Zindain's character, too. He never got uber emo like so many others, he had a kick ass weapon (double-sword!) and to top it off, he was a total womanizer! You just don't see that kind of thing in Final Fantasy very much, especially in the main character! Oh, and he has a tail, which is just awesome. Like this picture!
