Reminiscences again, this time of Stanislaw Lem - interacion of tech and Humanity was one of his fav topics and he wrote a lot of excellent short tales analysing it in his Ion Tihij cycle...

You could almost make it a timely commentary, perhaps with no modification. Technology is science...science generally embraces evolution...so if technology is truth, then evolution should be, too. (I've heard more far-fetched logic chains that that one.) Plus the background could be construed as crosses. And then there's the electric halo.

It makes me think of doom, a little, with the way some of the plusses reveal stuff in read. But I've been playing Doom recently, thanks to a friend being on the multiplayer kick.

Well, it's also a commentary on how two seeming opposites, science and religion, are occasionally joined, and how they could be made one and the same. The bones in the background ports are a reminder of how dangerous this mix can be, if it is used to justify things like eugenics (which both religion and science were used to justify in the past)
