I didn't totally stop drawing Sonic styled things. :)
YES.
I left the Sonic fandom time ago and I don't think
I'll get into it as I used to do years ago. The only
bond I have with the fandom is all the friends I've
met during my stay in the Sonic fandom xD
It's nice to see that my Sonic style is now influenced by my own style and not
anymore by other official artists I used to blindly imitate (Tracy Yardley, mostly)!
...to be honest there's not much Sonic here... just spaghetti limbs and head style.
Anyway... This is MCKaosu's character Candy... actually, she's mine now, as he
decided to give me her as he didn't draw her anymore and he knew I liked her
attitude and design! :) The sketch is some month old, unlike the rest... :D

Really, what you say makes me really happy because this was a big problem for me, because when I used to draw Sonic styled things, I saw they were too much close to the generic style, but when I tried to do furry art... it had too much Sonic in it xD Sooooo frustrating.
Plus having a style that is close to a generic style is even worse... >>

Going through your gallery a bit, I really like your style! The graphical elements and the vintage look is very cool. I'd say as an outsider it just looks like the sonic style works very well with your particular style, but not like it CAME from a sonic style. Your stuffs neat.
Some influence is good :) just not too much!
A thing I always liked to see in the sonic style is the way the bodies are soooooo dynamic (due to spaghetti limbs too, probably)
I often try to take that kind of dynamism :)
Apart from this, I recently found my own...how to say... "theme" exploiting my love for vintage... I'm glad you noticed and apreciated it! :)
My furry style has been strongly influenced by 70s anime/manga... and some good ol' disney (not much tho' :D) it took me a while to lose a too "canonic sonic styled" approach, but I'm happy with it now :) Now it's the opposite... as said, my sonic style is influenced by mine xD
The sketch of this one, was a bit old too, 4-5 months more or less... now, if I try to draw in Sonic style, it's even less "sonic" xD

Thank you loads! :D Bringing something unique or at least non-generic is my main goal :D Afterall, I chose to not rely on porn for my commissions (it's not my thing... I prefeer erotic things) so I necessarily HAVE to rely on a very solid style and anatomy :D trying to be good at both xD
I myself am really trying to move towards a similar goal. Something cartoony and unique. Unfortunately I keep getting sucked into the generic marketable furry art pit, but. XD;

Well, your style is not that generic :) you just went for digitigrades :)
